Excursion

Dushanbe

Flight to Dushanbe.

Arrival at Dushanbe International Airport.

Migration formalities usually take 20 min to 60 min: visa/passport control and baggage claim.

Come out of the terminal and meet the driver and guide holding a sign “ANUR TOUR” or with your name on it.

Transfer to the hotel to drop off the bags. Standard check-in (14:00).

Start Dushanbe sightseeing tour visiting:

- Tajik National Museum of Antiquities with the biggest Buddha in Nirvana.

The Museum consists of 22 exhibition halls with departments of nature, antiquity and the Middle Ages, modern history, fine and applied arts.

- Tajik flagpole-one of the world's tallest flagpoles (165-meter flagpole);

- Main square of Dushanbe. The Monument of Ismaili Somoni - the forefather of the Tajik Nation located on the main square. A 40-meter-high monument built to the memory of Ismaili Saman-Khuda, founder of the Samanid dynasty;

- Mehrgon Bazaar - one of the biggest markets in Dushanbe;

Transfer to the hotel.

Dushanbe – Norak – Kalai Khum

09:00 Transfer to Kalai Khum village (337 km) with sightseeing en route:

- Norak water reservoir, which locals call the Tajik Sea.

The highest point of the day trip is Shurab Pass (2 267 m), which lies along but not crossing the Afghanistan border. This part of Tajikistan is very beautiful; the mountain range is really impressive - these are the famous Pamir Mountains.

One can compare the sights around to an ocean of white and blue mountains.

Transfer along the natural border - the Pyanj River.

Arrival in Kalai Khum.

Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse.

Kalai Khum – Khoburubot – Dushanbe

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

Transfer to Dushanbe over the high Khoburubot Pass (3,252 m), known as the Western Pamir Tract. The scenery of the tract is very beautiful. One can see the picturesque green valley, high mountains, and rivers.

Take photo stops to capture panoramic views.

Picnic lunch.

Arrival in Dushanbe in the evening.

Dushanbe – Iskanderkul

09:00 Transfer to Iskanderkul Lake (130 km ~ 3 hours) over Anzob Pass (2900 m) and Anzob Tunnel en route, enjoying the stunning natural scenery of green, sometimes barren rocks, rushing mountain streams, and steep rock faces.

- Iskanderkul Lake is a real pearl of the Fan Mountains, located at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level. There are beautiful legends and interesting stories about Alexander the Great.

Explore the surroundings: visit Snake Lake (Ko'li Mor) that is famous for its clear waters. Walk along the lake. Visit the waterfall "Fan Niagara" (height 38 meters), situated 800 m below the Iskandar River, where one can take panoramic pictures.

Overnight in a guesthouse.

Iskanderkul – Dushanbe

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

Transfer to Dushanbe via the Anzob Pass with photo stops en route.

Arrival in Dushanbe, visiting:

- Gissar Fortress- the remains of the Bukhara Emirate Beck’s palace. Its thick walls once guarded a pool, garden, and palace, while the fortress itself overlooked a noisy market and caravanserai. The place was famous as a center of commerce during the Silk Road. You will also be able to visit the Old Madrassa (Madrasai Kuhna) of the 16-17th century with a museum inside, the new Madrassa of the 17-18th century, as well as the Caravan Saray.

Transfer to the hotel.

Dushanbe
