Qurghonteppa (literally translating to "Burial Mound") is a city in southwestern Tajikistan and the administrative center of the Khatlon Region. It is located 100 km south of Dushanbe, in the heart of a fertile oasis in the Vakhsh River valley.
Near Qurghonteppa, you can see the ruins of the ancient city of Lagman, discovered by archaeologists. Also worth noting is the Ajina-Teppa mound, which holds the remains of a Buddhist monastery. The city's historical and local lore museum is another place worth visiting.
