Akmola region

The Akmola Region is situated in the north of Kazakhstan. Kokshetau is its administrative center. The area is famous for its beautiful nature, forests, lakes and steppes landscapes.

The main tourist attraction of the area is Burabay National Park with Lake Burabay, Okzhetpes Rock, picturesque mountains and pine forests. Other popular tourist spots include the Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve, famed for its flamingos and a variety of fauna, and Zerenda, a peaceful lake resort area.

Tourists can go hiking, horse riding, boating, wildlife watching, camping and explore local culture and history. The area is particularly popular in summer and early fall.
